The New England Patriots will be missing some heavy hitters for Sunday’s contest with the Jets. On Saturday the team downgraded Stephon Gilmore, Rex Burkhead and Harvey Langi to out for Week 6.
Langi was in a car accident on Friday night with his wife and the linebacker injures are said to be serious, but not life threatening. For what it’s worth, New England listed a back injury for why he won’t be playing against New York.

Burkhead has long been dealing with a rib injury that he suffered in Week 2 against the Saints. While he was limited throughout the week and reportedly set to play, it appears he’ll need a little more time before seeing any live game action.
Gilmore’s downgrade does come as a bit of surprise as the corner will be missing Sunday with the team saying he’s dealing with a concussion. The corner wasn’t on the injury report all week, but in some cases with concussions they develop over time and are hard to read.
With Gilmore absence along with Eric Rowe (groin) also being ruled out, New England will be thin at corner leading Malcolm Butler as the only true starter on the roster.
The Patriots and Jets are set to kickoff their Week 6 contest down at MetLife Stadium at 1:00 p.m. ET.
